How to Replace the STX4 Electrode Blades

The new STX4 electrode works with the EVOM3, and the blades are replaceable. EVOM3 is used for making TEER (TER) Measurements in cell culture plates. Here's a quick tutorial to show you how to replace the blades.

CAUTION: AVOID touching the silver coating on the tips of the blades.

1. To replace the blades on the STX4, twist off the front ring to remove it.

2. Remove the back of the casing by twisting it off. One blade is on the outside, and one is on the inside.

3. The blades are removable. Gently pull the blades straight out.

4. The replacement blades look like the ones in this image.

5. Line up the outer blade in the groove with the white tab facing out.

6. Align the pins with the connector and push the blade into place. The inside blade must be parallel to the outside blade. The orientation of the pins is not important.

7. Push the blade with the foam through the center hole. Align the pins with the connector and push the pins into place.

8. Reinstall the back casing.

9. The front ring has a rim slot that faces forward. Reinstall the front ring.
