Variety of Measurement Ranges

EVOM2 and ERS-2 meters are limited to a single measurement range, but EVOM™ Manual allows you to select different ranges or can automatically detect the target range. Whether you are measuring a leaky cell type with low resistances or cell types for which barrier function is critical and resistance is higher, like blood brain barrier (BBB), the EVOM™ Manual can auto select. The auto-ranging resistance feature allows for fast resistance measurements. The EVOM™ Manual now has adjustable current levels in three fixed ranges with two lower ranges for sensitive membranes and high resistance ranges up to 100K Ω, making the EVOM™ Manual suitable for a variety of cell and tissue culture types (skin, intestine), complex 2-D (co-culture) or 3-D model (BBB) applications.

Hands Free Recording

With EVOM™ Manual you can streamline your process with a footswitch for hands-free recording, making sample analysis even faster. Data is recorded automatically, every time you tap the footswitch. You also minimize the chance of sample contamination when you limit hand movement during operation.

Touchscreen Display

EVOM™ Manual has an intuitive touchscreen controller with and easy-to-navigate menu and a graphical display showing your data for vital feedback during experimental measurements. The EVOM2 and ERS-2 showed a simple numerical reading. With the EVOM™ Manual, you see the data for all the plate samples. Since the EVOM™ Manual is portable and lightweight, you can easily share the on-screen data set with your team members.

Upgraded Electrode Options

Now you can choose which electrode is right for your application since the meter and the electrodes are sold á la carte. The simplest option is the STX4. The older STX2 and STX3 models used with the EVOM2 or ERS-2 required a steady hand to achieve consistent measurements. STX4 is keyed to fit perfectly into the 24-well cell culture transwell so you get consistent placement at the same depth every time. WPI also offers advanced electrodes, like the STX HTS electrodes for high throughput screening plates (HTS) and EndOhm chambers for higher measurement accuracy. Selection of a suitable electrode matching the experimental set ensures the most reliable data.
