TEER Measurement Equipment

Epithelial and endothelial cells are known for their barrier function like selective permeability, and Trans Epithelial Electrical Resistance/Trans Endothelial Electrical Resistance (TEER) measurement can be useful for applications like:

• Testing cytotoxicity of drugs and vaccines in lung epithelial, endothelial and epithelial-endothelial dual cell layer models
• Blood Brain Barrier applications
• Intestinal drug absorption studies like Caco-2 3-D tissue function
• Permeability or transport of ions or drugs
• Measurement of cellular confluence of a monolayer.

WPI is known to the global biomedical research community for their signature TEER measurement equipment. WPI offers TEER machines including the Manual EVOM (Epithelial Voltohmmeter) Meter (EVOM™ Manual) along with the basic STX HTS (high throughput screening) electrodes and also has options for advanced electrodes, such as EndOhm chambers and STX100 electrodes for higher precision and accuracy. For High Throughput Screening the EVOM™ Auto replaces the REMS system for automated TEER measurement of 96-well plates.
