A Tyrell hook is a surgical instrument commonly used in neurosurgery, often in the removal of brain tumors or other types of abnormal tissue. Named after its inventor, Dr. Ivan Tyrell, who was a British neurosurgeon, the Tyrell hook is a long, slender instrument with a curved hook at the end. The hook allow the surgeon to gently manipulate and move tissue during the surgical procedure, while minimizing the risk of damage to surrounding structures such as blood vessels or nerves. A Tyrell hook may be used to carefully separate brain tissue or other structures, to help identify the margins of a tumor or abnormal tissue, or to guide the placement of other surgical instruments, electrodes, or probes. Be sure to clean, disinfect, and sterilize your surgical instruments promptly after each use to ensure a long life for your surgical tools. This Tyrell Hook is available in surgical grade stainless steel or our premium German steel.
