New Generation of Pressure Injectors

For All Your Microinjection Needs

WPI's new generation pressure microinjectors are quickly replacing the very popular legacy line of pnuematic valve PicoPumps Pressure Injectors. The PV820 and PV830 have been a staple in the microinjection market for decades. The three new injectors facilitate any type of microinjecion that involves glass micropipettes.

  • MICRO-ePUMP - Microinjector with Integrated Cell Penetrator and Internal Pressure Source
  • μPUMP - Microinjector with Internal Pressure Source
  • PV850 - Microinjector for Use with External Pressure Source

One common microinjection method uses a glass micropipette to inject a liquid substance into a living cell or into the intercellular space, typically using an inverted microscope. The glass microinjection needle tip can vary in size from sub-micron to about 5-6µm in diameter. It will be larger if you are injecting stem cells into an embryo. The needles penetrate the cell membrane or even the nuclear envelope, in order to introduce a vector into a cell or nucleus. The vector could be a DNA molecule that carries foreign genetic material into the host cell where it replicates. By altering the embryo, microinjection can be used to genetically modify various animals like mice, fish (zebrafish, medaka, etc.), C. elegans, rats, rabbits, and even large domesitcated animals  like cattle, sheep and pigs.

Testimonials

I recently purchased WPI’s New STX2-PLUS Electrode with 99675 adapter to use with EVOM2 and measured in 24-well Falcon individual inserts for my experiments. Oh boy, it worked fantastic! I was so amazed how easy handling and great stability on measurements!!!! I have to measure 51 wells + controls for each experiments. I cannot thank you enough for WPI and you (Jim) for developing such a fantastic probe with affordable price!!!!!

The WPI Nanoliter 2010 with SMARTouch controller is a great step forward from the previous model Nanoliter 2000, providing easier handling, an improved sealing gasket for the micropipette, and much easier control of injection volumes and stepless injection rate. We use it for stereotaxic viral vector and tracer injections into the mouse brain and have found that it gives excellent results with no spillage at the entry site. In addition, WPI’s customer service has been very attentive and helpful. Definitely a five-out-of-five-star rating.

Thank you, Cathy! I think your company representatives and customer care is terrific. When I called to make changes and update the quote and Matt Frasure was unavailable, Tammy Villadoniga stepped up and took care of what we needed to move this the quote along. Then, Larry Burns, took great care with processing the order itself and you have just finalized things with the email notification of charges and an invoice. The speed, efficiency and friendly factor is outstanding.
