In this JoVE video you can observe as the researchers perform an intraluminal middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) on a mouse. The MCAO model is the most frequent used model among experimental ischemic stroke models. WPI's thermal cautery unit, high frequency dessicator and BAT-12R thermocouple thermometer, as well as surgical instruments, are used in this demonstration.
