| Tidas-Quad is a four-channel UV/VIS detection system for flow analysis with WPI’s liquid waveguide capillary cells (LWCC). It can be conveniently used for nutrient analysis, micro volume protein detection, trace metal analysis, flow colorimetry, dissolution testing or trace analysis of pharmaceutical compounds. Some advantages, compared to other commercially available systems, are sensitivity, ultra low noise, full automation and great versatility. The basic components of the system are a TIDAS I photodiode array spectrometer (range: 230-730 nm; resolution: 5 nm FWHM; noise: 5 µAU/cm), four light sources, four LWCCs (100 cm), ancillary fibers and cables and an instrument driver, interfacing the spectrometer to a data analysis package (Grams/AI). The Tidas I is connected to a computer via an Rs232 interface. This system is designed for fiber optic use; most of WPI’s samples cells can be used. WPI’s Tidas-Quad instrument driver is the heart of the Tidas-Quad 4-channel detection system. A single Tidas I detector emulates a complete four-channel system by sequentially measuring the input channels (ª1.5s/channel). Wavelength range, noise level and sensitivity can be adjusted individually for each channel. Data is collected either in single-shot mode or continuously and transferred to the GRAMS/AI package. GRAMS/AI is a comprehensive data processing and data management software package that can work with data files from multiple techniques, including UV, UV/VIS, IR, FT-IR, NIR, NMR, LC, GC, HPLC, DAS, CE, Mass Spec, and Raman. This software analysis package meets 21 CFR 11 compliance. With WPI’s Tidas-Quad instrument driver for the TIDAS I, GRAMS/AI can be conveniently used to manage and analyze data from a four-channel UV/VIS detection system for nutrient analysis, micro volume protein detection, trace metal analysis, flow colorimetry, dissolution testing or trace analysis of pharmaceutical compounds. GRAMS/AI can read hundreds of standard analytical file formats. GRAMS/AI automatically identifies a data file's format, converts it, and opens it for processing or viewing. In addition to supporting data files, GRAMS/AI also handles general purpose data formats such as ASCII, JCAMP, and AIA/ANDI. GRAMS/AI stores data in the Thermo Galactic SPC file format. This universal format will allow you to easily share data with colleagues and process analytical data at your desk, freeing up valuable instrument workstations. Further, GRAMS/AI offers tools for your laboratory to help you become 21 CFR 11 compliant. 21 CFR 11 regulates creation, archival and transmittance of electronic records (data). Even if you are not directly affected, these features help you with your good laboratory practice (GLP) procedures. |
