BASE PLATES: A magnetic stand is useless without a steel mounting surface. Our steel base plates have plenty of mass to give stability to your experimental setup.Unfortunately, this desirable mass results in unavoidable shipping charges. We therefore advise our customers to obtain steel base plates locally to avoid costly
shipping charges.

On the other hand, we doubt if your local fabricators can produce a plate like this at a better price. Bevelled edges make them easy to handle; rubber feet hold them off the benchtop, making them easier to grasp when they must be moved; and the special
black coating provides a durable protective finish.
